a bird's eye view on the New Valley -Toshka-

 

AIC was technically qualified and short-listed (came 3rd) in the contract to design-build a 400 million U.S. $ mega pumping station in Toshka, on the west shore of Lake Nasser. Entering the bid against 11 international consortiums, AIC 's consortium consist of Hitachi Corporation, Kvaerner Construction, Lahmeyer International & Hamza Associates, in which AIC holds around 40% of the consortium (representing the highest share owned by a local contractor compared with the competitors).

The project will extend over a period of four years and has a total contractual value of L.E. 1.5 billion. The final contract was signed on March 15, 1998. The Toshka project is going to house the largest pumping station ever built with a capacity of 300.m3/sec and a pump vertical lift of 52 m.
